Sunsari incident: PM Shah appeals to maintain social harmony

Kathmandu. Prime Minister Balendra Shah (Balen) has expressed sorrow over the incident in Sunsari and appealed to all to maintain social harmony.

He also expressed his commitment to provide justice to the families of the deceased, compensation to the victims and take legal action against the guilty. “The government is committed to providing justice and compensation,” he said. The Prime Minister has urged all sides to exercise restraint and maintain social harmony, mutual trust and tolerance by abandoning provocation, anger and the feeling of revenge.

He stressed on maintaining social harmony by loving and respecting each other. Expressing tribute to those who lost their lives in the accident, PM Shah wished for the speedy recovery of the injured. Om Prakash Mehta, 30, was killed in police firing while trying to control a clash between youths at Kaptanganj of Dewangunj Rural Municipality-3 on Sunday night.

Sunsari has been in turmoil after this incident. The administration has again imposed an indefinite curfew since last night.
