PM categorizes lawmakers into three tiers based on expertise

Kathmandu. Prime Minister Balendra (Balen) Shah has classified the parliamentarians into three levels on the basis of their expression, capacity and expertise.

During a meeting with lawmakers with engineering backgrounds on Wednesday, the prime minister categorised the parliamentarians into three categories: ‘average’, ‘below average’ and ‘extra ordinary’.

According to the lawmakers, the Prime Minister said that the parliamentarians of the general level would talk about programs and projects, those at the lower level would give instructions to others to carry out works while the ‘extra-ordinary’ lawmakers should give suggestions on new ideas, creativity and plans for the development of the country.

“An engineer is an extra ordinary. Average people talk about events. Below that, they tell me to do this, do that,” the MP quoted the Prime Minister as saying, “Since it is an extra ordinary, you should raise the issue of ideas and creativity. You should say that if you do this, the country will be built. Your ideas will make the country. ’

On the occasion, the Prime Minister urged the parliamentarians with engineering background to give their ideas on the plans and works required for industrialization.

Stating that coordination could be made with the concerned ministries, ministers, Office of the Prime Minister and the Office of the Council of Ministers, he said the parliamentarians with new views could be easily met.

During the discussion, Prime Minister Shah said that some bills are being prepared and the suggestions and cooperation of the lawmakers are needed in it. He said that the MPs can contribute to the making of laws based on the experience they have seen and experienced.
