More than 5,000 flights cancelled as snowstorm hits eastern U.S.

Kathmandu. More than 5,000 flights have been canceled due to a powerful snowstorm in the eastern United States. Millions of people have been affected by the snowfall.

The powerful snowstorm has disrupted transport, electricity and air services, the BBC reported. Parts of Rhode Island and Massachusetts received up to 33 inches of snow, according to the U.S. National Weather Service. New York’s Central Park received more than 19 inches of snow. The state has warned that this poses a risk to travel.

More than 6 lakh households and businesses in various states on the east coast have been left without power supply. New Jersey and Massachusetts have been the hardest hit.
