I have come to the election field giving up greed for minister’s post: Rishi Dhamala

Kathmandu. Journalist Rishi Dhamala, who is contesting for the House of Representatives election from Rautahat constituency-4, has claimed that he is contesting the House of Representatives election by giving up the greed of the minister’s post.

Speaking at an interaction programme with local journalists at Chandranigahapur of Rautahat on Thursday, he clarified that his political journey was not for power but for changing the country. According to Dhamala, the current Prime Minister Sushila Karki and the leaders of the ‘Jenji’ movement had repeatedly urged him to become a minister, but he had rejected it.

“The ministerial post is not a big deal for me, I have joined politics not for power, I have joined politics to change the condition of the people,” he said. He said that he has no desire for power and position and has come to Rautahat only for development. He claimed that he would play an active role in eradicating poverty and illiteracy in Rautahat and give a new direction to the country.

He said that he has been going to the doorsteps of the people from morning till midnight to listen to their problems. He is contesting the election with the election symbol of the Prabhu Sah-led Aam Janata Party. With the candidacy of Dhamala, who has long experience in the field of journalism, the election atmosphere of this area has become very interesting with the candidacy of Rautahat-4.

He also pledged to make Rautahat a model district and build a corruption-free society if elected.
