Election Commission gears up against misinformation and misinformation in all 165 constituencies

Kathmandu. Acting Chief Election Commissioner Ram Prasad Bhandari has said all the necessary preparations for the upcoming elections have been completed at all the 165 constituencies across the country.

Addressing the heads of the diplomatic missions, residential representatives of the United Nations and other international organizations and development partners, President Bhandari said all preparations for the elections have been completed. He said the Election Commission was committed to making the elections free, fair and credible. According to him, the Election Information and Coordination Centre, Call Centre and Joint Election Operation Committee have been established for the smooth conduct and observation of the elections. He also clarified that the EC has taken stern steps against misleading information, misinformation and hate speech that may be spread during the election.

“Preparations have been completed in all the 165 constituencies. We have set up election information. This information and coordination center, call center and Joint Election Steering Committee, JEOC, are for easy operation to observation. We have cracked down on misinformation, misinformation and hate speech. The Election Commission expects your continued support, cooperation and goodwill for the successful conduct of the elections. ’
