Kathmandu. Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP)’s Rajiv Khatri has been elected from Bhaktapur-2 with a huge margin.
Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RSP)’s Rajiv Khatri won the election with 42,334 votes. His nearest rival was NC’s Mahesh Basnet who got 10,966 votes.
Khatri defeated Basnet by a margin of 31,338 votes. Likewise, Nepali Congress candidate Kabir Rana got 8,401 votes while Nepal Workers and Peasants Party’s Ramesh Baidya got 3,753 votes and Ram Prasad Sapkota of NCP got 1323 votes. Rajiv Khatri is a former journalist. He joined the RSP near the election. After being elected, Khatri expressed gratitude to the voters and pledged to work for the development, good governance and transparency of Bhaktapur-2.
