Kathmandu. KATHMANDU — The newly elected lawmakers of the House of Representatives will take oath of office and secrecy and hold preliminary meetings at the multi-purpose hall of the new Parliament Building in Singha Durbar.
The Federal Parliament Secretariat is preparing to use the multi-purpose hall for the time being as it will take time to construct the hall constructed for meetings in the new building.
Secretariat spokesperson Joint Secretary Ekram Giri said that arrangements have been made for an alternative hall for the swearing-in ceremony and preliminary meetings.
“The construction of the hall for holding the House of Representatives meeting in the new building at Butterfly Garden is not likely to be completed immediately. Therefore, we are preparing a multi-purpose hall for the swearing-in ceremony and preliminary meetings,” Giri said, “It will be ready within 3 days.” It has been built for the use of the Secretariat. Now we are going to use it to make a living. ’
He said he was not sure how long it would take for the parliament building to become a regular meeting hall. New lawmakers were elected in the election held on March 4. It is not yet clear when the swearing-in of the lawmakers will take place and when the first meeting will take place.
