Kathmandu. Iran has been hit by five million tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions in the 14 days of the US-Israel war, according to a report. This is more than the total emissions of 84 countries in the world that emit less carbon dioxide.

The Guardian quoted a report by the Climate and Communities Institute as saying that the war in Iran has become a climate disaster.

According to the report, aircraft, ships and other military vehicles consumed between 150 million and 270 million liters of fuel in 14 days. The damage to military equipment also increased carbon dioxide emissions, the report said.

According to the report, most of the emissions were caused by damage to civilian infrastructure. According to Iran’s Red Crescent relief and rescue agency, about 20,000 buildings have been damaged in the attack.

Fighter jets, bombers and naval ships continue to increase energy consumption, experts say. Attacks targeting Iran’s capital Tehran and other energy facilities have also contributed to the increase in emissions. According to the report, between 2.5 million and 59 lakh barrels of oil were destroyed in these attacks.

According to the report, 5 million 55 thousand 16 tons of carbon dioxide emissions are equivalent to the annual emissions of countries like Kuwait or Iceland.
