Kathmandu. Chitwan-3 Rastriya Swatantra Party candidate Sobita Gautam has been elected with the highest number of votes so far. Gautam won the election in Chitwan-3 with 59,277 votes.
NCP’s Renu Dahal garnered 20,615 votes while Gautam garnered 38,662 votes. Nepali Congress and CPN-UML could not save their deposits in Chitwan-3.
NC’s Tek Prasad Gurung came third with 8,344 votes and CPN-UML’s Shankar Raj Thapaliya got 5,004 votes.
The bail of both Gurung and Thapaliya has been forfeited. Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) candidate Dipak Thapa Magar, who was elected to the House of Representatives from this constituency in the last election, garnered only 1,226 votes, according to election officer Bal Krishna Niraula of Chitwan constituency-3.
