Kathmandu. Counting of votes is underway in Dhanusha Constituency-1. According to the latest election results, the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has received 20,916 votes under the election symbol. More than 13,000 votes were cast in the bell of the other candidates.

The candidacy of Kishori Sah Kamal of Rastriya Janata Party (RSP) has been rejected. The Election Commission has not made public the results of the counting of votes after the rejected candidate got a lot of votes.

He has filed a writ petition at the Supreme Court against the Election Commission’s decision.

Matrika Prasad Yadav of the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) has garnered 7,566 votes. Nepali Congress candidate Ram Paltan Sah got 7,428 votes while CPN-UML candidate Ram Chandra Mandal got 6,605 votes.

The cancellation of the candidacy of RSP candidate Sah, who received the highest number of votes, has created uncertainty about the outcome of the vote counting.

A complaint was lodged against the RSP candidate Sah at the office of the returning officer on March 24. The Office of the Chief Election Officer had forwarded the complaint to the Election Commission on March 24 after a complaint was filed against ‘Kamal Nirman Sewa’ owned by Sah that it was blacklisted.

On February 14, Shah was directed to submit clarification and evidence. The EC had decided to annul his candidacy on March 18.
