Citizens’ campaign thanks govt for fair elections

Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: The Citizens’ Campaign for Clean Elections has congratulated the Government of Nepal for its role in the successful conduct of the election to the members of the House of Representatives 2082.

On behalf of the campaign, Informal Sector Service Center (INSEC) Chairperson Bijaya Raj Gautam and Nepal Human Rights Organization Chairperson Indra Prasad Aryal and a delegation met with Home Minister Om Prakash Aryal at Singha Durbar on Friday and thanked him for his significant role in conducting the House of Representatives election (March 4) in a peaceful, fair and systematic manner.

The campaign has also expressed gratitude and gratitude to the Government of Nepal and the Election Commission for their role in making the election successful.

On the occasion, Home Minister Aryal thanked all those who played a significant role in making the House of Representatives elections a peaceful and enthusiastic event.

Stating that taking the people’s mandate through the election was the best aspect from the constitutional and legal point of view as it is an important exercise of the democratic process, he said a significant achievement has been made in implementing the constitution through the election and institutionalizing the rights of the Nepali people.

“The enthusiasm and active participation of voters throughout the nation to hold the elections successfully in a free, fair, fearless and dignified manner have reflected our commitment and commitment to democracy,” she said.

“The role played by the Ministry of Home Affairs in conducting the election in a peaceful, dignified and fear-free manner even in difficult circumstances has been commendable, which has further strengthened citizens’ faith in democracy,” reads the statement.

“Periodic election is the fundamental pillar of democratic governance,” reads the letter reads, adding that the preparations and coordination made by the government regarding policy, administrative and security arrangements to fulfill such sensitive national responsibilities in a fair, transparent and credible environment are praiseworthy.

The campaign has also lauded the coordinated and responsible role played by the ministers, security bodies, administrative mechanisms and all the bodies concerned to make this important national task a success ।

“The government will continue its active leadership and commitment to promoting democratic norms and values, rule of law, protection of human rights and good governance,” reads the statement.
