Kathmandu. Two Indian ships have managed to cross the Strait of Hormuz amid escalating tensions between the US, Israel and Iran in the Middle East.

India’s Ministry of External Affairs Spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal gave this information on Saturday. He said that two Indian ships named ‘Shivalik’ and ‘Nanda Devi’ were crossing the strait and heading towards the ports of India.

According to him, the two planes were loaded with 93 thousand metric tons more liquefied petroleum gas (LPG).

External Affairs Ministry Spokesperson Jaiswal said that other Indian aircraft have also been kept on standby in the Gulf region. India is continuously coordinating with relevant countries to ensure its energy security.

Earlier, a Thai plane carrying fuel to India was attacked. So far, 5 Indian nationals have died and 1 is missing due to tensions in the Middle East.

There is also a shortage of oil and gas in India as the import of fuel from the Ghadi region has been affected. Fuel supply has also been affected in Nepal, which is imported from India.
