6,799 disasters, 464 killed in 11 months

Kathmandu. A total of 6,799 incidents of natural disasters took place across the country from mid-April to mid-March. According to the National Risk Reduction and Management Authority, 464 people have lost their lives in disasters in the last 11 months. As many as 38 people have gone missing in the disaster while 1,814 have been injured.

As many as 12,458 households have been affected by the disaster, according to the NRA. According to the NRA, the highest number of fire incidents took place during this period. A total of 3,339 fires have killed 98 people.

A total of 318 incidents of floods, 590 incidents of landslide, 429 incidents of heavy rain, 367 incidents of lightning, 592 incidents of snakebite and 246 incidents of fire were reported during the period. Similarly, 292 incidents of storm, 488 incidents of animal attack and 119 incidents of high-altitude sickness were recorded. Five incidents of avalanche, seven earthquakes and two capsizing of boats have been reported in the district. Similarly, a total of 29 incidents of natural disasters have been recorded from this morning on March 12 to the morning of March 13, according to the NRA.
