Kathmandu. Chairman of the National Dalit Commission, Devraj Bishwakarma, has said that the state’s sensitivity to end caste-based discrimination is still weak. Speaking at a programme organized to mark the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination in Kathmandu on Wednesday, he said the problem of exclusion was very severe and frightening.

Bishwakarma questioned what kind of pain the Dalit community must be facing in the rural areas when such a situation is seen in the capital.

He said, “The Mahabharata of exclusion is so terrible. That it’s terrifying. Its terror is devouring the country. If the chairman of a commission comes to the ministry, the secretary goes down to the gate to hand over the ‘G’. But when I am the chairman of the Dalit Commission, the secretary behaves as if an insect or a cat has come. So, what will it be like in the village, what will be the experience of the people? ’

He said although Nepal’s economy is based on agriculture, it is extremely weak and malnourished.

“We say that Nepal’s economy is dependent on agriculture. But it’s a bad economy. He is in a very malnourished state. That economy has not been able to benefit the Nepali people. If we don’t improve that economy, the country can’t really develop. “He said.

He also said that the issue of exclusion was needed and that the issue of exclusion was not given enough attention in Singha Durbar.

He said, “The more we discuss the Mahabharata of exclusion, the more we can go on the path of resolution of this issue. But our Singha Durbar does not want to discuss the place of governance. The ward chairperson refuses to attend the program on Dalits. ’

However, he said that now the new youth are lighting the lamp of awakening. He said that the youths have come to the realization that this problem can be solved by our efforts.
