Kathmandu. Secondary level students from Kuwait who had been studying online for the past two months returned to school on Sunday due to regional security tensions. The government has decided to conduct classes in physical presence, ending the ‘distance learning’ implemented in view of security sensitivities.

According to an announcement by the Ministry of Education on April 28, Kuwait plans to reopen schools for students of grades 10, 11 and 12 in a phased manner from May 3. According to the ministry, the government aims to gradually bring back the educational activities to normalcy.

With the resumption of physical classes in the school, the school bus service for both boys and girls has also been resumed. This is expected to make it easier for students to access schools and support fully campus-based learning.

Earlier, Kuwait had decided to shut down physical attendance in schools for the time being and conduct online classes, anticipating a possible security risk due to regional tensions.
