Moderate risk of floods in 40 districts on Monday

Kathmandu. According to the Flood Forecasting Division, there is a risk of flooding in 40 districts today.

According to the Meteorological Forecasting Division, water level will increase in Taplejung, Sankhuwasabha, Tehrathum, Panchthar, Ilam, Dhankuta, Jhapa, Morang, Khotang, Udayapur, Okhaldhunga, Bhojpur, Dolakha, Kavrepalanchowk, Lalitpur, Bhaktapur, Kathmandu, Sindhupalchowk, Rasuwa, Nuwakot, Dhading, Gorkha, Tanahun, Lamjung, Kaski and Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces.

The water level in small rivers and streams is likely to increase significantly especially in Surkhet, Dailekh, Achham, Kalikot, Bajura, Bajhang, Banke, Bardiya, Darchula, Baitadi, Doti, Dadeldhura, Kailali and Kanchanpur. The Division has stated that there is a moderate risk of flash floods in these districts.

The Division has urged the people living and traveling near the rivers and rivulets to stay alert as the water level in small rivulets, rivulets and rivers may rise suddenly due to heavy rainfall in short period.
