KATHMANDU: The Bhaktapur District Administration Office has distributed 60 gas cylinders to the general public.
The cylinders were distributed to the general public under the leadership of Chief District Officer Binod Kumar Khadka.
The banquet proprietor said that he had brought the LPG cylinder only on Thursday after reaching Chitwan as there are many feasts at the party palace in September and the gas was distributed to those in need at the request of the local administration.
Meanwhile, the district police have arrested two persons on the charge of black marketing of gas. Rajesh Karmacharya, 41, of Itachhe of Bhaktapur Municipality-2 and Umesh Sah, 25, proprietor of Sarlahi General Store in Brahmanagar, Suryabinayak Municipality-3, were arrested with 14 gas cylinders.
Sah, a resident of Barhathawa Municipality-7 in Sarlahi, was selling a cylinder per cylinder. He was arrested after receiving information that he was selling it for Rs 2,800. A total of 75 cylinders of Himal Gas were seized from his shop.
