Ashika objects in parliament saying Dashain will be a condition for innocent animals

Kathmandu. RSP lawmaker Ashika Tamang has expressed dissatisfaction over cruelty and animal sacrifice in the name of Dashain. Speaking in the meeting of the House of Representatives, she said that while people are celebrating Dashain as a festival, Dashain will be a Dasha for innocent animals.

She was of the view that the legal system related to animal welfare should be made effective in Nepal.

There are only about 10 days left for Dashain to come. We may have Dashain festival, but for innocent animals, Dashain is Dasha. Because in Dashain, we are more focused on how to mold goats, goats and buffaloes than Mata Durga. It is also not easy to chase in the fields, pierce the crowd with a sword or pinch the back with a stick. Yes, I have grown up in this society, seeing such scenes in Dashain.

Today, thousands and millions of innocent animals are sacrificed, that too by publicly gruesome killings. When I went abroad, there was a legal system to determine the punishment on the basis of cruelty to animals.

Now tell me, why is the legal system made for animal welfare in our country so weak?
