3 employees of airport customs office arrested with bribe

. KATHMANDU: Police have arrested three employees working at the Foreign Postal Customs Section under the Customs Office at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA).

A team from the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) arrested Indra Neupane, office assistant Ganesh Prasad Pudasaini and non-gazetted first class officer Chhabi Prasad Rijal from the Goshwara Post Office in Dilli Bazaar on Sunday.TAG_OPEN_p_7

According to the CIAA, a total of TAG_OPEN_p_6 Rs 1,46,420 was recovered from Pudasaini, who was bribed of Rs 10,000 and Rs 136,420. Likewise, Rs 20,000 taken bribe from Nasu Rijal and Rs 268,288 were recovered from him.

The CIAA raided and arrested them based on information that they were demanding bribe from service recipients in the process of exporting goods sent abroad through courier companies.TAG_OPEN_p_5
