NOC to ease LPG for cooking from today

. KATHMANDU: Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) has claimed that the supply of cooking LP gas (LPG) will be eased from today. Until now, due to the shortage of cooking gas in the Kathmandu Valley, consumers were compelled to wait for their turn.

There was a problem in the supply at the depots when the consumers were not able to get gas from the dealer. Entrepreneurs have said that the problem has increased as the consumption of gas increases in winter.

According to Manoj Kumar Thakur, deputy director and spokesperson of Nepal Oil Corporation, Nepal Oil Corporation imports 49,500 metric tonnes of cooking gas from India every month.TAG_OPEN_p_4 Currently, the NOC has supplied cooking gas to 60 industries across the country.

Spokesperson Thakur said that the corporation is working to bring the market back to normal, requesting the consumers not to store it unnecessarily.TAG_OPEN_p_3 It is also preparing to import an additional two thousand metric tons of cooking gas targeting the upcoming elections.
