Third International Buddhist Conference to be held in Lumbini

Kathmandu. Lumbini: The third International Buddhist Conference is scheduled to be held in Lumbini from April 16 to 17. A council meeting of the Lumbini Development Trust held on Thursday decided to organize the conference with the objective of promoting tourism and increasing tourist arrivals in Lumbini.

The meeting presided over by Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Anil Kumar Sinha and Chairman of Lumbini Development Trust Anil Kumar Sinha formed the main organizing committee.TAG_OPEN_p_9 Coordinator of the committee, Vice-Chairman of Lumbini Development Trust, Dr. A 10-member committee has been formed to be the leader of the committee.

The government has allocated Rs 3 TAG_OPEN_p_8 0 million for the conference for the current fiscal year. The conference, which could not be held in November due to political and structural changes, is now scheduled to be held on April 16-17 coinciding with the 2570th Buddha Jayanti.

Dr. According to Lama, the objective of the conference is to spread the feelings of kindness, compassion and world fraternity by promoting world peace through Buddhism and philosophy.

Buddhist scholars, gurus, distinguished guests and important personalities from more than 60 countries are expected to participate in the conference.TAG_OPEN_p_6 During the two-day event, discussions will be held on the heritage of Lumbini, the birthplace of Gautam Buddha, Kapilvastu and the places associated with Buddha, ecological situation of Lumbini area, world Buddhist heritages, Buddhist education and culture.

According to the Lumbini TAG_OPEN_p_5 Development Trust, the first and second international Buddhist conferences had significantly contributed to the religious, cultural and tourism sector of Nepal.
