. The government is to table a proposal to withdraw the Social Media Bill in today’s meeting of the National Assembly. Prime Minister and Minister for Communications and Information Technology, Sushila Karki, is scheduled to present the proposal seeking withdrawal of the ‘Social Networking Bill-2081’.
A meeting of the Council of Ministers held on Tuesday had decided to give approval to withdraw the bill from the Federal Parliament.TAG_OPEN_p_7 The bill registered in the 17th session of the National Assembly was currently under consideration at the Legislation Management Committee of the Assembly.
In today’TAG_OPEN_p_6 s meeting, Prime Minister and Minister for Education, Science and Technology Karki will present a proposal seeking passage of the ‘National Forensic Science Laboratory (Establishment and Operation) Bill, 2081’. Before this, a proposal seeking discussion on the bill along with the report of the Legislation Management Committee will be tabled.
Similarly, President of the Public Policy and Delegated Legislation Committee, Maya Prasad Sharma, is scheduled to present a proposal in the National Assembly seeking discussion on the ‘Study Report of the Committee on Policy-Level Problems Related to National Parks, 2082’.TAG_OPEN_p_5
The National Assembly will meet at 1:1 TAG_OPEN_p_4 5 pm today. Meanwhile, a meeting of the Legislation Management Committee of the National Assembly is taking place at 11:00 am today where clause-wise discussion is to be held on the Non-Physical Cultural Heritage (Protection) Bill, 2081.
