Observers’ role crucial to make election fair and credible: Commissioner Rana

. KATHMANDU — Election Commissioner Sagun Shumsher JB Rana has said that the role of election observers is crucial to make the upcoming House of Representatives election free, fair and free.

Addressing an orientation programme of observers organized at the Election Commission here on Friday, he said, “Every person deputed for the election observation should have clear information about the constitution, election law and current status of Nepal.TAG_OPEN_p_3 In the past elections, the National Observer Organizations have played an important role in enhancing the credibility of the elections. ”

Election Commissioner Rana also warned the Election Commission to fully abide by the Election Observation Directives and the Code of Conduct.TAG_OPEN_p_2 They also urged the observers to put into practice what they have learnt from the orientation training, describing them as important stakeholders and “eyes” for the election.
