Gen-G movement damages Rs 84.5 billion, more than 2,300 jobs lost

. The Gen-G movement that took place on September 7 and 24 has had a serious impact on Nepal’s governance, economy and social structure, according to a government report.

According to the budget half-yearly evaluation report for the current fiscal year 2082/83 released by the Ministry of Finance, the two-day agitation has caused a total physical loss of Rs 84.45 billion to the public and private sectors.TAG_OPEN_p_11 This loss is equivalent to 1.38 percent of Nepal’s gross domestic product (GDP) and 4.30 percent of the total budget of the current fiscal year.
