National Assembly session ends

Kathmandu. The ongoing session of the National Assembly is to be prorogued from 12:00 midnight tomorrow as per the decision of President Ram Chandra Poudel. This step has been taken on the recommendation of the Council of Ministers.

Issuing a press release today, Spokesperson at the Office of the President, Ritesh Kumar Shakya, informed that the session will conclude from 12:00 midnight on January 14.

The government had recommended to prorogue the session of the National Assembly as the election to the House of Representatives was approaching and there were no other important bills.

In the current session, the National Assembly has passed the Tourism Bill and Film Bill while the Social Media Bill 2081 has been withdrawn. The convention began on January 18.
