Janata Samajbadi Party unveils election manifesto

Kathmandu. KATHMANDU — The Janata Samajwadi Party Nepal (JSP) has made public its election manifesto for the upcoming House of Representatives election 2082.

The party has put federalism, equality, social justice, prosperity and socialism as its primary agenda in the manifesto unveiled with the slogan ‘Towards prosperity with struggle’.

The party has expressed its commitment to consolidate the federal democratic republic by institutionalizing achievements gained from past political movements, decade-long armed rebellion, people’s movement and Madhes people’s rebellion.

Likewise, it has been mentioned that the federal restructuring of the state, proportional representation and inclusive democracy would be made more effective by correcting the shortcomings in the constitution. Expressing dissatisfaction over the current political situation, the manifesto has accused unstable alliances, unprincipled politics and growing corruption have weakened the people’s trust. In the economic sector, the increase in public debt, dependence on remittances, decline in domestic production and rising youth unemployment have been pointed out as serious challenges.

JSP Nepal has pledged to ensure citizens’ access to quality education and health services, make the justice system accessible and effective and create employment opportunities for youths in the country. Likewise, establishment of welfare state with social security, strengthening participatory and inclusive democracy and achieving equitable prosperity along with economic and social justice through good governance have been forwarded.

The party has pledged to implement socialist economic political line by institutionalizing federalism along with national÷ethnic identity. It has also pledged to strengthen the proportional representation system and ensure the representation of marginalized communities, indigenous nationalities, Dalits, women, Muslims, Tharus, backward classes, among others.

Calling on the people to vote under the umbrella election symbol, the manifesto has claimed that the country would be steered towards inclusive development and sustainable prosperity.
