Kathmandu. Minister for Home Affairs Om Prakash Aryal held discussions with the office bearers of Municipalities Association of Nepal, National Association of Rural Municipalities and District Coordination Committees Federation, Nepal on peace and security, elections and contemporary issues.
On the occasion, Home Minister Aryal said the Ministry would leave no stone unturned to hold the upcoming elections in a free, fair and fear-free environment.
He also praised the coordinating role of the umbrella organizations at the local levels. Stating that the local people’s representatives are the guardians of the local levels, Minister Aryal said the Ministry was moving ahead by giving importance to coordination with the local level officials. Likewise, the chiefs and office-bearers of the umbrella organizations of the local levels said they were playing a coordinating role from their respective places to hold the election in a free, fair and fear-free environment.
The Home Ministry on January 29 had sent a letter to all the District Administration Offices with the intention of involving the political persons, office-bearers and intellectuals at the ward level in the election management and enhancing their ownership in the election and conducting the election in a free, fair and fear-free environment ।
Home Secretary Raj Kumar Shrestha, Chief Research Director Tekendra Karki, Municipalities Association of Nepal Chairman Bhim Prasad Dhungana, Chairman of National Federation of Rural Municipalities Nepal Laxmi Devi Pandey, Executive Director of Federation of District Coordination Committees Bharat Kumar Bhattarai, Chief of Security and Coordination Division at the Ministry of Home Affairs Ananda Kafle and other officials of the Ministry of Home Affairs were present on the occasion.
