Bhimphedi prisoner arrested for theft in Bara

Kathmandu. A prisoner who escaped after breaking into the Bhimphedi prison in Makwanpur during the Zenji movement has been caught red-handed while stealing again in Bara.

A team from Area Police Office, Prasauni arrested 26 years old Bishal Mukhiya of Prasauni Rural Municipality-1 on February 18. Mukhiya was found stealing copper wire from Bishwakarma Metal Industries based in Prasauni.

The arrested chief is a person serving a sentence for a serious crime. The District Court of Makawanpur had sentenced him to five years and six months in jail and a fine of Rs 100,000 on robbery and robbery charges. He was in Bhimphedi jail for serving the same sentence and escaped from jail on September 10, 2082.

The Bara District Court has extended the custody of Mukhiya for seven days in connection with the theft case after he was found involved in theft again.

According to District Police Office, Bara’s Spokesperson and Deputy Superintendent of Police Bijaya Raj Pandit, further legal process has been initiated as the absconding prisoners have been found to have committed crime again.
