Kathmandu. Minister for Land Management, Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation, and Urban Development Kumar Ingnam inspected the under-construction parliament building. On Friday, Minister Ingnam and National Assembly Chairman Narayan Prasad Dahal inspected the under-construction Parliament Building at Singha Durbar.
Talking to media persons after the inspection, Minister Ingnam said that instructions were given for handing over the work on March 1, but looking at the pace of work, it is still not possible to complete the work in a smooth manner. He expressed the view that there was no alternative to completing the construction work in the stipulated time.
“Looking at the pace of the work, it seems that the construction will be completed soon,” he said. On March 1, he was instructed to hand over the money anyway. But looking at the pace of work, it is not visible. The work is still not likely to be completed smoothly. Chairman Dahal also said that the construction of the building was not as fast as it should have been. He said that the response has come from the construction side that we will hand over the building by any means till the time the House is running.
“We haven’t seen it at the pace we thought it should be,” he said. It has already been decided that the House will function. It may fluctuate for a couple of days, but it will go on after the election. We gave a lot of instructions that it should be built while it was running the House. After the latest directive, there has been some progress. They have said that they will complete it by the time the House is functioning. ’
