Leopard found inside people’s house in Tarakeshwor Manamaiju, 2 injured in attack

Kathmandu. At least 2 people have been injured in a leopard attack near Manamaiju Temple in Tarakeshwor Municipality of Kathmandu.

Dulal Maharjan, 65, and Mayanath Wagle, 55, of Nasalchowk of Tarakeshwor municipality-10 were injured when the leopard attacked them at 1.00 pm today.

Maharjan sustained minor injuries on his head and left hand. He is undergoing treatment at Shubham Hospital, Manamaiju Loktantrik Chowk.

Wagle, who was injured in the leopard attack, has sustained injuries on his right ear and left hand. He is undergoing treatment at Nepal Army Hospital, Chhauni.

The attacking leopard had entered the house of Anojamani Adhikari near a big well in Manamaiju. Locals had informed the police after the leopard entered the house.

Spokesperson of the District Police Range, Kathmandu, SP Pawan Bhattarai said that further investigation into the incident is underway. He said coordination has been made with the Kathmandu Division Forest Office for rescuing the leopard.
