Home Minister Aryal meets UN Resident Coordinator

Kathmandu. Minister for Home Affairs Om Prakash Aryal and newly appointed Resident Coordinator of the United Nations in Nepal, Leela Peters Yahiya, paid a courtesy call on them at the latter’s office today.

On the occasion, Minister Aryal expressed gratitude to the United Nations for its support to Nepal in the areas of governance reforms, climate change and capacity building of local governments. He also expressed the belief that the collaboration with the United Nations would be further strengthened in the days ahead.

Also speaking at the programme, UN Resident Coordinator Peter Yahiya said the government would give continuity to its collaboration with Nepal and expressed interest in expanding cooperation and collaboration in Nepal in the areas of combating narcotic narcotics, border security, and combating human trafficking.

During the meeting, Minister Aryal said the government was working at a rapid pace to institutionalize democracy by holding the elections in a peaceful and fair manner by maintaining peace and security in the House of Representatives election on March 4
