Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: The main opposition Nepali Congress (NC) has decided to provide financial assistance of five lakh rupees to Nepali women’s national team football captain Sabitra Bhandari aka Samba for her treatment. Vice-President Bishwa Prakash Sharma has announced that the party will contribute five lakh rupees to Samba’s treatment fund.
He called All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) President Pankaj Bikram Nembang and informed him that the Nepali Congress would contribute five lakh rupees to the players’ treatment fund.
“I have informed the ANFA president over the phone that the Nepali Congress will contribute five lakh rupees to the players’ medical fund. At this time, we all need to support the famous football player Samba, who has made a significant contribution to the prestige of the country. I wish him a speedy recovery,” he wrote.
Samba had written a status on social media on Monday asking for help for her treatment, saying that ANFA and the government did not take any initiative.
Similarly, Kathmandu Medical College (KMC) has announced that it would provide free treatment to the patient if he wanted to do so in Nepal.
