‘Leaders with big allegations of corruption and fraud started giving speeches on good governance, good conduct and clean politics’: Chalise

Kathmandu. Nepali Congress (NC) Spokesperson Devraj Chalise has expressed surprise over the fact that leaders who are facing big charges of corruption and fraud have started giving speeches on good governance, good conduct and clean politics.

Referring to Rastriya Swatantra Party President Rabi Lamichhane’s remarks, Chalise said camouflage is being used in Nepal’s politics. “It’s like trying to do it day and night. The tendency to fulfill one’s selfish interests by deceiving the people has prevailed. The use of camouflage in Nepal’s politics is playing a big game on people’s trust and pushing the future of the country into the darkness of uncertainty,” Chalise wrote.

Chalise said that the political parties and leaders have adopted a clever strategy to show attractive and good face by hiding their real interests, objectives, character and activities in front of the people.

“In politics, camouflage is like a camouflage used in the military. Wear green clothes in the jungle and hide completely from the enemy’s sight. Similarly, in politics, people hide their real face and paint a different color,” Chalise said, “Unfortunately, in the recent political scene of Nepal, some parties and their leaders seem to be very skilled in this art.” ’

Chalise said that it is easy to lie, but it is very difficult to explain the truth to those who believe in lies. He argues that it will be more difficult for the people to search for the truth when the truth is kept hidden by repeatedly giving false assurances to the people.

“When the real character and objectives of the leaders are not exposed before the people, when the corruption and irregularities committed by them are covered up, then how is the development of the country possible?

He urged the people to be vigilant and recognize the real face of the leaders.
