Home Minister directs to create environment conducive to conduct elections in fair and fear-free environment

Kathmandu. Home Minister Om Prakash Aryal has said the election to the House of Representatives scheduled for March 4 would be held in a free, fair and fear-free environment.

During an on-site inspection and monitoring of a polling centre at Baiteshwor Rural Municipality in Dolakha district on Friday, Minister Aryal directed the authorities concerned to create environment conducive for holding the election in a free, fair and fair manner by correcting the shortcomings of the past.

Speaking at the programme attended by the high-level security agencies in the district and the central government, Home Minister Aryal, who is also the government spokesperson, urged all sides concerned to prepare for their constituencies being aware of the false and false information and propaganda circulated in social media.

A team comprising Home Minister Aryal and Acting Chief Election Commissioner Ram Prasad Bhandari monitored the polling centres in the rural municipality and interacted with the local stakeholders regarding the election security.

The monitoring team comprises Inspector General of Armed Police Force Raju Aryal, Chief of General Staff of Nepal Army Pradeep Jung KC, AIG Ganesh Thada Magar, Home Ministry Spokesperson Ananda Kafle, Deputy Spokesperson Rama Acharya, DIG Bishnu Bhatta, Chief Election Officer Ram Prasad Neupane, Chief District Officer of Dolakha Hari Prasad Ghimire, Baideshwor Rural Municipality Chairman Chhabi Lama and ward member Somber Bahadur Tamang.

On the occasion, Acting Chief Election Commissioner Bhandari stressed on the need for active participation from all stakeholders to hold the elections in a free and fair environment. He also urged the bodies concerned to ensure election preparations and ensure election security by identifying possible problems keeping in mind the sensitivity of the past elections.
