I will build houses for Madhes-Dalits after joining the government: President Thapa

Kathmandu. Nepali Congress (NC) President and Sarlahi Municipality-4 candidate Gagan Kumar Thapa inspected the polling centres on Sunday. He reached Sarlahi after casting his vote in Kathmandu-4 this morning and inspected various polling centres.

Talking to media persons after casting his vote at Maitidevi polling centre in Kathmandu-4 before going to Sarlahi, he said he would work for good governance for five years if given an opportunity.

He also said that he got political fulfillment by going to Madhes. He said that although he knew about the hills and Kathmandu, Sarlahi-4 had given him the opportunity to learn about Madhesh.

Stating that the situation in Sarlahi is very serious, he promised to start the reform works from the first year itself.

He said that he came to know that he had to use force from inside while bringing fertilizer to the border. He said that he could not even imagine cutting the subsidy of sugarcane farmers like before, but he learned only by going there.

He said that while in the government, he would talk about changing the houses of the Dalits in Madhes even if it was cut by cutting the budget of others. “It’s going to cost billions,” he said. Instead, let’s cut the ministry. It is also a shame that I did not know that people were still living in such conditions. ’
