Economic census boosts investors’ confidence: Chairman Pandey

Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: President of the Confederation of Nepalese Industries (CNI), Birendra Raj Pandey, has said that the economic census is not only a data collection but a fundamental national campaign for building the country’s economic future.

In his address to the District Economic Census and Assistant Economic Census Officer Training Programme organized in connection with the preparation of National Economic Census-2082, he said data was the biggest force in the era of global competitive economy.

Credible data would help in the formulation of evidence-based economic and industrial policies, he added. He said that the census would help guide the private sector reform programmes in the right direction, boost investors’ confidence and provide the basis for formulating strategies for employment and productivity growth.

He said that the CNI has already signed an agreement with the Office of Statistics to collaborate for the economic census.
