EC preparing to issue certificates to PR MPs by mid-April

Kathmandu. The Election Commission has said that all the works related to the House of Representatives elections will be completed by the third week of March.

EC Spokesperson Narayan Prasad Bhattarai said that all the tasks including issuing certificates to those elected under the proportional representation system would be completed by then.

The EC expects that the counting of votes under the proportional representation category will be completed by Tuesday. He said that after the completion of the vote counting, the names of the candidates to be selected from the proportional representation closed list will be demanded from the concerned parties on the basis of the percentage of votes received by the respective parties.

After this, the names received from the parties will be verified according to the cluster and the elected members will be selected and certificates will be given to the commission.
