Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: The Supreme Court (SC) has assigned a writ petition filed by Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Dhanusha-1 candidate Kishori Saha after the Election Commission (EC) rejected her candidacy.

A division bench of Justices Binod Sharma and Meghraj Pokharel is conducting the hearing on the writ petition filed by Saha on Sunday.

Earlier, the Supreme Court had ordered to submit the reasons for rejecting the candidacy in response to Sah’s writ. The Election Commission (EC) had scrapped the candidacy of RSP candidate Sah from Dhanusha constituency-1 following a complaint that his candidacy was blacklisted.

Kishori Lal Sah of Kishor Construction was blacklisted on Poush 6, 2080 and October 31, 2029, according to the Credit Information Center website. Two days before the election, the Election Commission had rejected Saha’s candidacy.

Ram Chandra Mandal of CPN-UML, Ram Paltan Sah of Nepali Congress and Matrika Prasad Yadav of Nepal Communist Party (NCP) are in the fray. The Election Commission has already declared Matrika Yadav of NCP as the winner in the constituency.
