Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: Central Chairman of the Aam Janata Party Nepal (JJP) and former Minister Prabhu Sah has urged the Sushila Karki-led government to immediately withdraw its decision on political appointments made recently. Issuing a statement on his Facebook page on Monday, Saha said that the decision of the government, which was formed on the foundation of the Jenji rebellion, to appoint its neighbors to important state bodies is against the spirit of good governance.
“It is condemnable and objectionable for the government which is on the verge of exiting the elections to make political appointments in a way that will hurt good governance and transparency,” he said. “It is a matter of shame that Home Minister Om Prakash Aryal, who was entrusted with the responsibility of conducting the election, has been recommended for nomination to the National Assembly by the Council of Ministers,” Shah said.
Likewise, PM Karki’s appointment of his chief personal secretary Adarsha Shrestha as the chairman of the Trust for Nature Conservation is a mockery of good governance and transparency. Recalling that he had been accused of providing jobs to his own family members in the name of the martyrs of the Jenji movement in the past also, Shah said that such a decision has attacked the very spirit of the movement.
They have strongly demanded that it be made public.
