Kathmandu. A peaceful demonstration took place at Maitighar Mandala in Kathmandu demanding the release of the report of the Gauri Bahadur Karki-led commission formed to investigate the ‘Gen G’ demonstration on September 7 and 24. The demonstrators carried placards with slogans such as “Report Khai Ru”, “Bring out the Truth”, and “Listen to Gen G”.
They have expressed anger that the government has formed a commission to investigate the incident but has kept the report hidden for a long time. They have protested by wearing black bands at Maitighar Mandala.
The government had formed a probe commission under the coordination of former justice Gauri Bahadur Karki after police intervened and clashed during the demonstration by the youths (Gen-G) on September 23 and 24. Although the commission has submitted its report to the government, the report has not been made public, which has increased dissatisfaction among the general public and the protesting youths. The protesters have demanded that the report be made public immediately, take action against the culprits and address the genuine demands of the youths.
