4 killed in 73 disasters in 24 hours

Kathmandu. Kathmandu : Four people died in the last 24 hours in Karnali as per the circumstances of natural and non-natural disasters in Karnali. According to the data released by the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority (NDRRMA), a total of 73 incidents of disaster were recorded across the country from 10:00 am on March 15 to 10:00 am on March 18.

Four people were killed and 14 others were injured in the incident. Among the dead, 2 were from the storm, 1 from snakebite and 1 from lightning. According to the NRA bulletin, the highest 46 incidents of storm and 12 incidents of fire have been recorded in the period of the period.

These disasters have caused an estimated economic loss of Rs 2,41,06,900 across the country. At the same time, 27 cattle have also died. A total of 349 police personnel have been deployed across the country for rescue and management of natural disasters. In the last 24 hours, disasters have affected 43 districts of the country.

Looking at the overall statistics from April 15 to March 15 in the current fiscal year, the situation of disaster in Nepal looks alarming. So far this year, there have been 6,951 incidents of disasters across the country, in which 475 people have lost their lives and 38 are still missing. A total of 1,846 people have been injured and 12,650 families have been directly affected.

More than 100 people have died this year due to fires. Similarly, 98 died from snakebite, 74 from landslide, 54 from animal attack and 47 from lightning.

In the last 24 hours, rainfall has occurred in different parts of the country. Out of 334 rain measurement stations, 123 stations recorded rainfall, the highest at Mulghat of Dhankuta recorded 35 millimetres rainfall. Bhairahawa of Rupandehi district recorded the hottest temperature at 34.5 degrees Celsius.

The coldest place recorded was recorded at Humde of Manang where the minimum temperature was minus 8.5 degrees Celsius.
