Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress (NC) Spokesperson Devraj Chalise has said that all the central committee members of the party are unanimous in favour of withdrawing the resignation tendered by party President Gagan Thapa.
According to him, 46 central committee members have so far protested in the ongoing central committee meeting of the party and all of them are in favour of rejecting their resignations.
According to him, the meeting is mainly focusing on two issues related to the election review and resignation of the party president. The meeting also proposed rejecting the resignation of the party president. On the basis of this, most of the central members have expressed their views.
He said, “The meeting is being held mainly focusing on the review of the election and the resignation of the party president.” There is also a proposal to reject the resignation in the meeting, based on which most of the friends have expressed their opinion.
So far, 46 central committee members have expressed unanimity that the resignation of the party president should be withdrawn and rejected. ’
The central committee meeting of the Nepali Congress is underway at the party headquarters in Sanepa. President Thapa has resigned from his post taking moral responsibility after the party’s big defeat in the election to the House of Representatives.
