Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, Sobita Gautam, today visited the Bikram Baba Puja site inside the Chitwan National Park.
Participating in the Bikram Baba fair held at the same place in Chitwan Constituency No. 3, Minister Gautam highlighted the importance of nature-worship tradition associated with the Tharu community.
Writing on social media, she said, “Today, Chitwan Constituency No. I had the good fortune of reaching the Bikram Baba Puja place located inside the Chitwan National Park in Chitwan National Park in Chitwan District-3. The Bikram Baba Fair, a nature-worship tradition associated with the Tharu community, has become a common religious festival of all today. ’
According to her, the Bikram Baba fair has evolved over time as a common religious and cultural festival of all communities. On the occasion, Minister Gautam offered prayers at the base of a sal tree. She said trees, forests and rivers were the bases of human existence adding that the tradition of worshipping nature would enhance the feelings of conservation.
She further wrote, “I also worshipped at the base of the Sal tree today. Trees, forests and rivers are our natural resources as well as the basis of our existence, and the tradition of worshipping nature promotes the spirit of nature conservation. May the blessings of Bikram Baba be for the welfare of the people and the welfare of Nepal and Nepalis. Minister Gautam expressed confidence that Bikram Baba’s blessings would help for the welfare of the entire people, prosperity of the country and welfare of Nepalis.
