Kathmandu. The government is going to amend the Public Procurement Act-2063 BS.
The Office of Public Procurement Monitoring has prepared the preliminary draft of the ‘Public Procurement Act Amendment Bill’.
Clause (6) (2) of the Legislation Act 2081 has a provision that the preliminary draft of the bill should be made public for public opinion. Accordingly, the Public Procurement Monitoring Office has published the preliminary draft of the bill on April 8. Feedback will be collected till April 1.
According to the opinions and suggestions received, if some changes need to be made in the draft, this bill will reach the cabinet through the ministry. After getting approval from the Council of Ministers, the Ministry submits it to the Parliament. It is passed by the parliament and sent to the President and after the President certifies it, it will come into force as an Act.
The amendment bill has been proposed in 38 sections.
