Police request landlord to provide details of tenants

Kathmandu. The police have requested the landlord to provide details of the occupants.

According to Superintendent of Police (SP) Pawan Kumar Bhattarai, spokesperson of the District Police Range, Kathmandu, the request has been made to make it easier to identify the person if the crime does happen.

“I have been living in the same house for four to five years. But if the person commits a crime, the landlord will not know anything about it,” SP Bhattarai said, “At least we have requested to keep the details of the tenants so that such incidents do not recur.” It’s not binding. ’

According to the police, if the landlord asks for the police clearance report, it will be revealed what kind of background people are going to live, so the landlord can ask for the police report.

As a result, those who are not involved in any of the incidents will not be unnecessarily questioned and harassed by the police, police said.
