Govt to provide Rs 25,000 to squatters displaced from Kathmandu

Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: The government has decided to provide Rs 25,000 per family displaced by the removal of vulnerable settlements along the rivers in the Kathmandu Valley.

A meeting of the Council of Ministers held on Tuesday afternoon decided to provide the amount for the rehabilitation expenses, said government spokesperson Sasmit Pokharel.

“The government will provide Rs 25,000 in lump sum to each family as resettlement expenses after verifying the details of the people displaced by removing the vulnerable settlements located on the banks of the Kathmandu Valley River,” he said.
