Chief Minister Krishna Yadav gets vote of confidence for second time

Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: Chief Minister of Madhesh Province Krishna Prasad Yadav has won a vote of confidence for the second time.

Chief Minister Yadav had urged the government to call a meeting of the Province Assembly today to take a vote of confidence after the Janamat Party pulled out of the province government.

Out of the total 100 lawmakers present in the meeting, 62 votes were cast in favour of the Chief Minister while 36 votes were cast against him.

With more than two-thirds of the lawmakers in the Provincial Assembly, Chief Minister Yadav has won the vote of confidence in the Provincial Assembly.

The Nepali Congress, the CPN-UML, the Nepali Federal Socialist Party, the Janamat Party, the Janata Samajbadi Party and the Rastriya Prajatantra Party voted against it. The next meeting of the provincial assembly has been postponed until further notice.
