Rs 19.77 lakh revenue collected in a single day

Kathmandu. A total of 2,535 drivers have been booked for breaching traffic rules in the past 24 hours. This has contributed Rs 19.77 lakh to the state exchequer.

According to the Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office, 101 persons were taken for drunken driving, 129 for ride-sharing law, 106 for breaching signal lights and 138 for speeding.

Similarly, 81 for flouting lane discipline, 141 for blowing horn in prohibited areas, 117 for parking vehicles on the pavement, 113 for one-way driving and 1,609 for violating other traffic rules were taken in the district.
