Kathmandu. With the intensification of the student agitation in India, it has become a big challenge for Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Indian police fired tear gas in the center of the capital New Delhi yesterday to stop thousands of demonstrators from marching towards Parliament.
According to eyewitnesses, some protesters and police personnel were injured in the incident. The protesters have been demanding the resignation of the education minister and examination reform. According to media reports, the Delhi Police has asked for restraint and “not to indulge in any unlawful or violent activities”.
The protesters have been demanding the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over irregularities such as question paper leak and technical problems. The latest protest took place on Saturday after activist Sonam Wangchuk was forcibly taken to the hospital. He has been fasting in support of the movement launched by the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP).
The CJP was formed by 30-year-old Abhijit Deepke, who graduated from Boston University. The latest performance has been a big challenge for Narendra Modi, who will become the Prime Minister for the third time in 2024. Opposition Congress leader Rahul Gandhi also accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of being the most insensitive Prime Minister in the history of India.
