Seven arrested on charge of stealing oil tanker in Birgunj

Kathmandu. Police have arrested seven persons on the charge of stealing petroleum products from a tanker at Birgunj Metropolitan City-14 in Parsa district.

According to the police, they were arrested from Saudagar Oil Center at Birgunj-14 at around 5.10 pm on Thursday while extracting oil from a tanker (Na 7 Kha 1539) carrying petroleum products (Na 7 Kha 1539) from the Integrated Check Post (ICP) of India.

The arrestees have been identified as Aslam Hawari, 23, Rafiq Miya, 21, a cashier, Keshar Ram Sunar, 46, and assistant driver Sandesh Rana Magar, 20, of tanker (Na 7 Kha 2804), and driver of tanker (Na 7 Kha 1539) Mand Singh Lama, 50, and assistant driver Umesh Rana Magar, 27.

The tankers involved in the incident have been impounded, police said. Further investigation into the incident is underway.
